Whitney was unfortunately sick right before Ashley got into town and was still recovering. Ashley's immune system is pretty weak to begin with, so we were doomed from the start. Luckily Ashley was just well enough to record the very last day she was in New York.
lyrics
Whitney:
I'm sorry Ashley,
I didn't mean to get you sick.
I promise that this was just all purely an accident.
Soon enough you'll feel so much better that you'll be able to sing with all of us,
But in the meantime you can rest 'til you can sing along with this.
Ashley:
It's ok, I think I feel better than before.
It's my chance, now I can sing even more.

- With earnest lyrics and a musical leash that constantly tugs you along, Asa Martin immediately made this an album I wanted to listen to a second time. Blasts of high energy end up tempered by soft sincerity, and the final result is great. Get it. franklylost
The second EP from Northern Irish singer-songwriter Bea Stewart runs from gentle folk to pillowy pop ballads, all perfectly executed. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 15, 2024
