Quietest Hours is a very personal song as it was inspired by Leslie's late grandmother. She was the person that encouraged her to take piano lessons as a child. Her grandmother was one of her biggest fans and would take her places to perform music for others. This song is dedicated to her.
lyrics
Over and high over and high
Down below
The wind and the rain are calling my name again
Remembering what came before and knowing how it ends
Light casts silhouettes in this dark and empty room
I feel your presence for a moment, but it's gone too soon
Oh in the quietest hours I still think of you
And in my darkest hours, I'm brought back to you
I am feeling weakened and I'm so consumed
The dawn of the day when you left me here to stay
My heart filled with faults and the words that I meant to say
The passing of another year oh how I wish that you were here
In the memories is how I will keep you near
Oh in the quietest hours, I still think of you
And in the darkest hours, I'm brought back to you
I am feeling weakened and I'm so consumed and I'm so consumed
And I'm so consumed
In the quietest hours I still think of you
In my darkest moments I know what is true
I know that you'll always be in my memory
You showed how I can spark in this building heart
You proved that I can be someone cuz you still live through everyone
In the quietest hours, I still think of you
