Ashley has been a fan of Folk music since she was young, and wanted to write a story-based song similar to the music she enjoys. The story of Bonnie and Clyde has interested her for some time, as it comes down to two people trusting each other enough to commit terrible crimes together. An act of either lunacy or love.
lyrics
You told me take him to the ground
I pulled the trigger and he went down
And away we ran
Money in our hands
The tv screams for our arrest
The people shout we're dangerous
But we just laugh
Oh it's such a gas
But oh, I know
We made our bed and we're gonna lie
Oh, I know
We sold our soul and we'll pay the price
But that's fine
Cuz as long as you are my man
I'm your getaway ride
You are my Clyde
You told me grab the goods and run
We drove into the setting sun
We'll change our name
All fun and games
The sirens flash their red and blue
You hit the gas away we flew
Going 105
Feeling so alive
But oh, I know
We made our bed and we're gonna lie
Oh, I know
We sold our soul and we'll pay the price
But that's fine
Cuz as long as you are my man
I'm your getaway ride
You are my Clyde
They yelled out take em to the ground
They pulled the trigger and we went down
Knew this would come
The best die young
Don't worry love just close your eyes
Come on put your hand in mind
And take a bow
We're legends now
But oh, I know
We made our bed and it's time to lie
Oh, I know
We sold our soul and we'll pay the price
But that's fine
Cuz if you're going down well then
I'm going down by your side
You were my Clyde
